It's such a simple plan to take it like a man, but I'm not sure I can

Sometimes, I say the weirdest things without thinking. For example, a few days ago I was at my computer after dinner, when my family asked me, “Austin, Do you want some dessert?” to which I replied, “What do you mean?”

Lake Chavez: an insidious place. A relatively small body of water that is apparently the result of a separated chunk of ice from the last ice age. Now, surrounded by dense trees and foliage, it has become a den of youthful hijinxs, the likes of which most parents would never believe. Chavez has seen many a teenage boy and girl deflowered of the many virginal qualities one is exposed to in high-school: their first entry, their fist sip, their first inhale.

Many of the youth from the neighboring small town of Tolent, who made Lake Chavez their after school and weekend home, continue to gather there on those same nights at the Chavez Moor, a typical grungy pub attached to a small dock. One may find it odd that none of those who frequent the establishment actually make use of the docking services also provided by the Chavez Moor Pub, none of the patrons actually owns a boat. The same young boys whom one knew would never leave Tolent, gathering and laugh at the banks of “old Chavs”, would continue to do so until the devil claimed them.

The town was shocked when a young newlywed couple walking their dogs one morning discovered the bodies of 6 men, all in their 50’s, all drowned in the murky waters of Lake Chavez. For many years the suspicion was a tragic boating accident, but to those who had managed to escape the fiendish call of the Lake, knew that those bodies represented a bold struggle for escape.
