No post then suddenly, bam a large wealth of posts. Oh well, enough of that.

So today, I was actually frustrated into spending too much money on clothing. It starts with my day goal: To go into Richmond early to purchase a sweet shirt from the mix and match 2 for 1 sale, then head to my class at 4pm. I plan to be in Richmond at 2:30.

I get to the stop about a minute late for the bus I needed to catch, but I don’t know if the bus has come early and I’ve already missed it, or if it’s late and I’m still good. So I waited around for 15 minutes. Still no sign of the bus so, I reason that I missed it and start to walk back home. Once I get past the point of no return, I hear the bus turning the corner and sure enough, there it is, now about 16-17 minutes late and impossible to catch. Oh well, whatever. The next bus will get me into Richmond at 3:00, that’s still enough time before class.

I get out nice and early for the next bus, 5 minutes before it should arrive. BUT, to my shock and horror, as I near the same fateful point as before, I see the new bus pulling away from the stop. This one’s 6-7 minutes early!!!! What the hell is going on!!! Many curse words later, I don’t even go back home, I just walk into town and grab a coffee then wait for the next bus, resolving that my goal, to go to mix and match, now cannot be done.

To my amazement though, as I get into Richmond, I realize, hey I can actually get off this bus and still go to mix and match, (quickly) and get my shirt before school.

So that’s what I do.

But in my rush, and relief that I could actually get my goal accomplished, I paid too much for that which I was hoping to save money on. I needed to pick out a second item in order to get a deal, so normally, I would pick out two similar priced items so it would be like getting both for half price. No, instead I picked out a cheap item and a really expensive one…so I got the expensive item for a discount and the original shirt I had hoped to get a deal on, for really expensive.

The thing is, the discount on the expensive item didn’t (in my books at least) now suddenly make it an attractive buy… it simply brought it down in price from something I’d never buy, into something I’d consider buying for that price (from $80 down to $40.) However, what it ALSO did was move the shirt I had originally planned on getting for 20, up to 40 and that is way too much for a t-shirt.

Anyway, I already made this entry way bigger than I wanted it to be so I’ll just shut up now. Oh hasty consumerism, I am not immune.
