Today was an odd day...but ultimately a good one.
I missed the writer's conference today... I feel sorta guilty about that...but...argh...Ok, not going to think about it any more.
Today, I was eating some ice cream in a dish in one of those chic clothing stores on Robson street, and one of the sales clerks (with a spanish accent) came up to me and said "I'm sorry, no ice cream, or fruit juice or hot dogs in the store." So as I left, I said, "Oh alright, I understand. I'll never bring my business to your establishment again." But I don't think he heard me. Doesn't that SUCK??? I also said, "God forbid I spill some ice cream on your $150 t-shirts."
I was in old navy today too, in pacific centre. The flip flops are on sale. When I went to the big floor display of them, tha familiar factory rubber smell filled my nostrils and I was flooded with memories. Oh man, the old navy days....Those were good days. Lots of good memories. Smells really do evoke strong memories.
I've ordered a bunch of stuff online: A live modest mouse cd, a new (damn you, Bil Ens) trogdor shirt, and two books by Dr. and Mr. Doris Haggis-On-Whey, called:
-Your Disgusting Head : The Darkest, Most Offensive and Moist Secrets of Your Ears, Mouth
and Nose
and
-Giraffes? Giraffes!
Good stuff eh? I'm excited...oh internet purchasing, teaching me patience.
One last thing.....ARTS COUNTY ON THE 8th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOLY CRAP AM I EXCITED!!!
You know, Matt Good will be the very first concert I've been to where I am totally into the artist. I've never seen any of my all time favourite artists live before. Nine Inch Nails, Blink182 (shame on me), Stabbing Westard, The Watchmen or Counting Crows. I plan on fixing that for the bands that I can fix it for...namely NIN and Counting Crows. The rest of those bands are now either defunct or suck. So yeah, Matt will be the first favourite of mine that I will finally see. Did I mention that he's basically the only thing I've been listening to for the past 7 months?????
excitement... building.......
