Welp, first day back at work after Xmas Holidays.
This holiday season was kinda like this whole year, tbh. Generally hard, but rewarding, with some crazy lows and highs. At one point I un-ironically drank rum straight from the bottle. I also had surprise hang outs with Jo that were some of the most connecting experiences in recent memory.
The entire holiday season was spent at my inlaws. In that time, Arno experienced a lot of firsts:
He's a little human. Jo made the comment that he's making her laugh, like really laugh, way earlier than she though he would. It made me think of his giant, mischievous, open mouth smile as he slowly closes a door on you. It still makes me laugh now thinking about it.
As part of an Xmas present I also restrung my mother-in-law's guitar, and man, does it sound good now. Better than my own. I had to make a cover recording before we left, and I did:
I Wish I Was A Girl - Counting Crows

I really think I may also post some of my really shitty first songs too. If nothing else, for the sake of seeing behind the curtain, and to practice shedding embarrassment more generally.

The entire holiday season was spent at my inlaws. In that time, Arno experienced a lot of firsts:
- Drinking with a straw
- Open handle-style doors
- Running? Certainly the closest he's come to it so far.
- Safely descend couches/beds/stairs? It's not 100%, but he can often do it.
- Proto-words? We're positive he's saying "What's this?" in reference to all kinds of objects. ALL kinds.
